This Privacy Policy explains how CrickCircle ("CrickCircle", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the CrickCircle mobile application, website (criccircle.in) and related services (together, the "Services").
By using the Services you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your phone number or email address (used to sign in with a one-time password), or your name, email address and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- Profile information — display name, username, profile photo, playing role, batting/bowling style, city and any other details you choose to add.
- Match and scoring data — rooms, teams, players, tosses, ball-by-ball scores, scorecards, statistics and match results you create or take part in.
- Social content — friend requests, connections, posts, comments, likes and shared scorecards.
- Communications — messages you send to us, such as support requests or feedback.
Information collected with your permission
- Location — approximate or precise location, only when you allow it, to show nearby matches and tag the venue of a match. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
- Camera and photos — only to let you take or choose a profile picture or images you decide to upload.
- Notifications — a push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send match updates, invites and friend activity.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information — device model, operating system, app version, IP address, crash and diagnostic logs, and how you interact with features.
- Authentication tokens — stored securely on your device (Keychain / Keystore) to keep you signed in.
The website itself does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme preference is stored locally in your browser.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
- To provide core features: live scoring, scorecards, statistics, leaderboards and match history.
- To show nearby matches and connect you with friends and other players.
- To send OTP codes, service messages and (if enabled) push notifications.
- To keep the Services safe — preventing fraud, abuse, spam and violations of our Terms.
- To diagnose problems, analyse usage and improve the app.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Information Visible to Others
CrickCircle is a social sports platform. The following is visible to other users of the Services: your display name, username, profile photo, player statistics, leaderboard rankings, and the scorecards of matches you play in. Scorecards you choose to share outside the app can be seen by anyone who receives them.
Your phone number and email address are not shown publicly.
6. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third parties that have their own privacy policies:

7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Match scorecards involve other players. After deletion, your name in shared match records is replaced with "Deleted user" so other players' statistics stay accurate.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed credentials, and secure on-device token storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information (most of it can be edited in the app).
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Withdraw consent — for example, turn off location or notifications in device settings.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, or request a copy of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Users under 18 should use the Services with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
